No fewer than four persons reportedly died, while 13 others were injured on Saturday night in an auto accident which involved a white Innosson bus and a Toyota Sienna on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Ogun Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday.
He said the accident happened around 8pm opposite a private university at Km 82 along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway
The sector commander said the accident was suspected to have been caused by speeding on the part of the drivers of the two vehicles, which resulted into a collision.
He said, “The two vehicles involved in the crash were Innosson bus with number plate AKL 450 YY and Toyota Sienna with number plate FST 370 DC.
“A total of 23 people comprising 18 males, four females and one female child were involved in the crash.
“Thirteen people made up of nine males, three females and one male child were injured in the accident, while two males and two females died.”
Oladele said the corpses of the victims have been deposited at Fakoya Mortuary, Sagamu; while the injured victims were receiving treatment at Broad Life Hospital at Olowotedo and Idera Hospital also in Sagamu.
